New poetry collection!

Hello, friends! I'm so excited to share with you the project I've been working on, a new collection of my poems, entitled, The Lovers Seize the Means of Production. Lovers is a follow-up to my 2023 poetry collection, Open Things. I think they look cute together!

I designed both covers myself on Canva, but for Lovers I had a specific vision for the cover art and interior art, and ended up drawing some of the elements myself, including the line drawing of the lovers, and the little hummingbird which appears on the back cover and flits around the pages. I'm really excited how it came out. If you liked Open Things, I think you will love Lovers! I'd be honored if you picked up a copy, shared this email, or shared one of my social media posts about it.

And if you enjoy a numerically-based challenge, I have given myself a goal of selling 1000 copies (of Lovers and Open Things together) in October, November, and December. So far we are at 5! :) I have a balance on a credit card that I used to buy groceries when I wasn't able to work much in 2020-2021 due to foot, knee, and hip injuries, and if I sell 1000 copies I could pay it off and be free of it. Wouldn't it be beautiful if poetry could feed the poet's younger self?

Thank you, as always, for your support!

Love,
Jessica
